Daniel joined the MAP team in November 2016 as a software developer, after completing his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Bristol. His role within the project is the development of web applications, such as the MAP Explorer tool for visualizing and interacting with malaria-based research data, as well as the design and creation of new databases for storing this information.

Daniel became interested in epidemiological research through founding a university society centred around global health, and by interning with non-profit organizations which focussed on evaluating evidence for different health interventions, particularly those in developing countries.

Daniel left MAP in September 2018 to take up a masters in Artificial Intelligence at Edinburgh University.
